A fabulous gem of a museum right here in Charm City! See incredible and often surprising artwork by untrained artists from all over the world. Hands down the best museum gift shop too!
The world's only not-for-profit international umbrella for children and the arts. Get a first-hand view of how children around the world speak through the visual arts.
This site is really fantastic--tons of art ideas and fun games, plus a great research resource. Try the cake-decorating page or collage game--betcha can't stop :-)
Check out my high school---maybe some of you will want to audition there once you get to 8th grade. They offer majors in Dance, Music (vocal and instrumental), Theater, Theater Tech, and the Visual Arts plus top notch academic standards. If you want to audition for the Visual Arts, I will help you prepare your portfolio and can tell you what to expect.
Want to see masterpiece after masterpiece of ancient, medieval AND modern art? Get your parents to drive you a couple hours up to Philly, and you won't regret it. Run up the museum steps like Rocky did in the original movie, see some world-class art, go get a cheese steak sub in the city, and on your way to lunch, stop at the open-air Rodin Sculpture Garden--WOW what a trip! :-)
Here it is! I first went there in 9th grade, in early autumn. Can I just tell you how magical it was? Red and golden-green leaves swirling on stone steps leading me up to an atrium filled with gorgeous bronzes and stone sculptures by this master of the human form. Visual poetry! GO!!!
Site Description: "The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, Maryland is internationally renowned for its collection of art, which was amassed substantially by two men, William and Henry Walters, and eventually bequeathed to the City of Baltimore. The collection presents an overview of world art from pre-dynastic Egypt to 20th-century Europe, and counts among its many treasures Greek sculpture and Roman sarcophagi; medieval ivories and Old Master paintings; Art Deco jewelry and 19th-century European and American masterpieces."
